Playing The Long Game - Ben's 1x1x1 - May 23, 2025 🚀
For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
My wife works for Workday. If you don’t know Workday, it’s a giant publicly traded company that does HR, payroll, and finance software for companies that actually read their employee handbooks.
They just celebrated their 20-year anniversary. Huge milestone.
But here’s what really got me: the founder, Dave Duffield, started Workday when he was 60. Sixty! He’s now 80. And this wasn’t his first rodeo the guy had already built and sold multiple companies before that. But Workday? That was his biggest win.
It made me pause.
Here I am sprinting for wins in my 30s… meanwhile Dave was out here planting his legacy seeds at an age most people are thinking about retiring.
So yeah. A little reminder to self: play the long game. Enjoy the journey. Keep learning. You never know when your biggest chapter is about to start.
