For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
Momentum Is a Cheat Code. Here’s How to Use It.
Every now and then, life hands you a “boss level” challenge.
Big workload. Big problems. Big dreams. Big uh-oh.
Here’s how I flip the switch to prime myself (if you're in a rush just skip to step 5):
Step 1: 5:00am Club The birds aren’t up. But I am. Why? Because at 5am, nobody’s texting, slacking, or bugging me. It’s just me, my thoughts, and a pull up bar.
I get the blood flowing and if we're being honest get my confidence up as well.
Step 2: Chow Time I fuel up. No sad oatmeal. I eat like a Greek god with a startup to run. This is why our house is always out of eggs.
Step 3: Meditate for 10 Minutes (or pretend to) This is me sitting quietly, pretending I’m not already thinking about emails. But somehow... it works. Brain goes from 17 browser tabs → 3. Good headspace for the day.
Step 4: 7:30am. Lights on. Engine humming. Now I’m cookin’. No meetings. No distractions. Just pure flow state with a side of cappuccinos.
Step 5: THE MOST IMPORTANT PART AND WHY I'M WRITING THIS: Catch the Momentum Wave Most people start with the hard stuff or move straight into meetings. Not me. I warm up like an NBA player. Layups first. I call this phase momentum building. I write out a list of what I want to do every single day. I then prioritize that list focusing not on the most important tasks but rather the series of tasks that will build momentum into the most important needle moving tasks of the day (writing this newsletter is 100% a momentum builder for me). I feel like I'm trying to catch a wave on a surfboard at this stage of the day.
Clear inbox ✅
Knock out all HubSpot tasks ✅
Send a cold email that makes the reader think, “Damn, I need to reply to this.” ✅
Each task = a little dopamine squirt when I physically cross it off my list. That’s the juice. And it builds up like compound interest.
Then… the heavy hitters:
Tough convos
Strategy sessions that feel like chess matches
Proposals that could land $100K+
Product or service launches
By the time I hit those, I’ve already got 3 wins on the board and feel like I can run through a brick wall (and then rebuild it better).
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like the to-do list is strangling your soul? Happens to me all the time. You probably don’t need a nap. You need a win. Get one. Then another. Then ride the wave. Let’s go.

Last weekend we got to tear up the trails in Bellingham Washington. I'm so thankful to have these guys in my life.
