For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
I Launched a Print Newspaper in 2025. On Purpose.
This is me at 11:30 pm after 3 flights with a 1 year old absolutely jacked to open up my big box of newspapers lol.
A little daily side quest to stay sharp, test ideas, and write about something I’m mildly (read: wildly) obsessed with — mountain biking.
At the core: a daily email newsletter.
Where I went rogue? Monetization.
Most people do ads or subscriptions. But I wanted to answer two questions: 1. What’s a sustainable monetization strategy? (Recurring > one-off ads) 2. What makes for the best story?
Yup. Real ink. Real paper. Real people holding it in their hands.
Nobody’s really doing this which made it way more interesting.
And you know what? It’s been so fun.
Also slightly unhinged.
Like, “add-a-whole-new-business-to-your-calendar-that’s-already-bursting” kind of unhinged. But I love it.
It’s been mildly chaotic, and honestly one of the best things I’ve done for my creativity.
Because here’s the thing: By showing up every day to write and experiment, I’ve been able to treat The Send It Daily like a creative lab.
And the learnings, from testing copy to launching offers to building community, translate directly into other businesses I’m running or advising through Pono.
What started as a side quest is now a growing business. With real paying subscribers. Real revenue. Predictable income. And the occasional paper cut.
I love the product. I love the process. And I love that it’s making me sharper across the board.
Long live print.
Long live weird experiments.
And long live the creative gyms that make everything else stronger.
Interesting find/tool of the week
Nothing interesting enough to report!
Image from my life
This past Sunday I rode a trail I've had my eyes on for years called Fifty Six Twenty. Based in Revelstoke BC, this is the longest mountain bike flow trail in the world. Was a dream come true.
