For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
I've got a random thought for you all today. We have a 1-year-old. Which means we are buying A LOT of milk. Like 2 gallons a week. And that’s before you factor in my ice cream habit (which honestly should have its own grocery budget line).
My wife found this really cool brand at our local store.
The milk comes in glass jars, and every time you bring the jar back you get $3 back. Genius. The only problem? It requires going to the grocery store. I am a heavy Instacart user. I hate going to the grocery store.
But it got me thinking… remember when the milk man was a thing? Like, a dude would show up at your door a few times a week with fresh milk in glass bottles. What happened to that? That’s the service I need. Bring me the good stuff. Toss in some ice cream and we’re best friends for life.
It makes me sad how many of these old-school services disappeared.
Gas stations used to check your tires, clean your windshield, pump your gas.
Now I’m out here swiping cards and praying I don't get jumped.
I think there’s actually a market for this nostalgia.
Maybe that’s why I launched a print newspaper when everyone else is going digital.
I crave the old stuff. Or maybe I’m just getting old.
Anyway, if anyone wants to start a milk delivery business in Central Oregon… hit me up.
I’ll be your first customer.
Interesting Tool/Find
Reddit is about to be the most valuable company in the AI age.
Why? Because all the juicy human knowledge isn’t in books… it’s in a 2013 thread titled “My cat just ate an entire stick of butter, am I screwed?”
Early days, but I’m curious to see what Beno can do with this goldmine.
Image from my life
Amelia has been doing Barre workouts for years and she finally convinced me to go to a class. Was I the only dude out of 30 people? Yes. Was I the worst one there? Yes. Was I walking like a new born giraffe the next day? Yes. Was it good to get out of my comfort zone? Always.
