For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
Man… I’ve been on a losing streak lately.
One of those “universe keeps kicking me in the shins” kind of weeks
And the worst part?
I hate losing about 10x more than I love winning.
Which, mathematically, means I’m miserable 90% of the time and unbearable to be around the other 10%.
By Wednesday I was sitting there doing my classic midweek reflection routine (the one where I stare into space, question my life choices, and try to convince myself that “this is all part of the process.”)
Somewhere in that sad little self-therapy session, I remembered something important:
I’m actually winning where it matters.
My family’s good.
My health’s good.
I still get to do work I care about.
But man, those losses still sting.
A deal that falls through.
A massive sale that ghosts.
A project that goes sideways.
It’s death by a thousand little L’s.
Then a buddy I work out with dropped a small but powerful reframe on me.
He said, “Just say yes.”
At first, I thought he was joking.
Then I tried it.
Offer declined? YES!
Kid’s sick again? YES!
High-maintenance client? YES! Bring it on.
Expenses came in higher than expected? Let’s gooooo.
It’s such a simple thing, but it flips the script.
Instead of resisting the pain, you’re inviting it.
You’re saying, “Yeah, I can take another punch. Let’s see what else you’ve got."
That “bring it on” mindset changes everything.
Suddenly you’re not the victim of your circumstances.
You’re the crazy person laughing in the rain while life throws hailstones.
So next time you catch an L, don’t spiral.
Don’t catastrophize.
Just… say YES.
It’s dumb.
It’s fun.
And it works.
Interesting Tool/Find
Typeform is an absolute rip-off.
If you’re still using it, do yourself (and your wallet) a huge favor... move over to Tally.
It’s faster, cleaner, and your bank account won’t sob quietly in the corner every month.
And no, I’m not affiliated with Tally.
I’m just a recovering Typeform user trying to save others from the same financial trauma.

Finally lived out my childhood dream of dressing up as Legolas! My wife was not stoked on all the arrows in the house.
