Start and scale a business that gives you freedom

Hey, I'm Ben!

I build, buy, and invest in businesses.

I've had 2 successful exits. Way more failures.

I write about building Freedom Companies to achieve what I call the three freedoms:

A life of financial freedom.
A life of time freedom.
A life of creative freedom.

I send one action packed email a week called a 1x1x1 covering crazy cool businesses I spot, updates on what we're building and buying, and lessons from the journey of an entrepreneur. Β

Ben's 1x1x1 - June 7, 2024 πŸš€ - My Most Productive 120 Minutes

For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1.

One learning, reminder, or interesting item from my week.
One interesting find/tool from my week.
One image from my life.

Let's dive in πŸ‘‡

Learning/reminder of the week

You lose 36% of your investment in GameStop. "Expected."

Then, your dog somehow got into the neighbors yard and ate one of their chickens. "WTF?!"

Then you get a flat tire on your way to work. "Classic."

Later you get a call from your wife that you have mold under your sink. "What's new."

And if that wasn't enough, it hit hits you that your barista put whole milk instead of oat milk in your cappuccino πŸ”₯. "Can I take this call from the bathroom?"

Thankfully, the compounding stress of these events hasn't happened to me (recently).

But this is exactly how my calendar would make me feel every single day!

Everyday, I would feel this compounding stress as the day went on with meeting after meeting and my todo list growing task after task.

By the time the time 3:00 pm rolled around, I had gotten nothing done and had only added to my todo list.

That was my life, until I made this one change.

I blocked the most productive hours of my day, everyday.

Between the hours of 8:00 - 10:00 am, my brain is firing on all cylinders.

I'm caffeinated, fresh, fed, and feel absolutely unstoppable.

By blocking my calendar for these 120 minutes, all of that compounding stress washed away.

I started crushing the most important tasks for the day out the gate, feeling ahead, and not trying to do the heavy lifting at the end of the day when I'm absolutely gassed.

Now life is good, even with the occasional whole milk cappuccino.

Protect your most productive hours of your day!

Interesting find/tool of the week

ODESZA (EDM artist) dropped their entire live album recently. I think it's been the number one contributor to my work output for the week πŸš€
