For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
If you’ve been following along, Luna is 24/7 vet care in your pocket so people can have healthier, happier pets that live longer. Think: worried pet parent at 10:47pm Googling “why is my dog licking the couch?” but instead you get actual help.
And as much as I'd like to talk about the app itself, I'm going to talk about the feeling of releasing it.
Because something weird happens when an idea becomes reality.
The moment Luna finally went live and I started sharing it around… I had this strange sensation of:
“Huh. I kind of don’t even care if anyone downloads it.”
Now before my imaginary investors faint, hear me out.
What felt so good wasn’t the potential users or growth or metrics.
What felt amazing was finally getting the idea out of my head and into the real world.
For over a year, this thing was just bouncing around inside my skull. Screens. Flows. Features. Branding. Tiny details nobody else will ever notice.
And then suddenly… there it was.
A real thing.
In the App Store.
Alive in the wild like a slightly confused baby deer.
It reminded me that building businesses is actually a lot like being an artist.
You’re obsessing over the details:
the branding
the look and feel
the tiny interactions
the integrity of what you’re putting into the world
the little things that make it feel right
And when you finally release it, you realize the business is really just an extension of you.
Which is probably why it feels so good when it finally escapes your brain.
Now to be clear, this is an expensive feeling.
It costs time.
Energy.
Unhappy financial advisors.
A decent amount of suffering.
And several moments where you stare at your laptop and whisper, “Why did I start this again?”
But when it’s finally out there?
There’s this wave of calm.
It’s no longer rattling around in your head.
You can see it.
You can touch it.
It’s out in the wild doing its thing.
Hopefully it helps people.
Hopefully people download it.
But even if it’s just the beginning… it still feels pretty damn good to keep making things.
To keep making art.
Anyway, if you have pets and want to try Luna, we’re looking for early users.
If you download it, shoot me an email. I’ll extend your free trial for a few months and we’ll cover the costs. Mostly I just want feedback so we can keep making it better.
Until then,
Happy building.
Happy art. 🐾
Interesting Tool/Find
I stare at my 13-inch MacBook screen way too much.
To the point where I’m pretty sure my brain is quietly rotting like a forgotten avocado in the back of the fridge.
So I started using this simple little timer that taps me on the shoulder every 30 minutes and basically says:
“Hey buddy… maybe stop staring at pixels and go look at a tree.”
I stand up.
Stretch.
Stare at something green.
Shockingly… I feel better.
Highly recommend if you also spend your days slowly merging with your laptop.

We're really into planes right now so we hit a 5 acre plane museum. Pretty epic!
