Ben's 1x1x1 - How to get recommended by ChatGPT - September 12, 2025 🚀
For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in 👇
Thought from the week
AI is Eating Google’s Lunch
I talk to 6+ companies a week about growth, marketing, and how to stop feeling like their sales pipeline is a tumbleweed blowing through town.
And here’s the big ugly truth from the last 12 months: SEO got smoked.
Yes, Google tweaked their algorithm (shocker), but the other shark in the water is people searching with AI.
Want a new dentist? A new CRM? A new car? Instead of Googling, people are just asking ChatGPT. (And it gives better answers than page 1 of Google filled with “Top 10 Best…” spam blogs written by Chad in 2014.)
Gartner says 30% of search traffic will come from AI tools by 2026.
Now, this is either terrifying… or it’s a gold rush.
We’ve spent the last 3 months elbows-deep figuring out how to make websites show up in AI results.
Honestly, it feels like ordering at Cheesecake Factory.
There are 400 options, and you don’t know what’s going to make you sick.
So let’s keep it simple. Here are 4 things you can do today:
Build an AI Profile: AI likes structured data (tables, lists) not your cute “About Us” story. Make a page that’s basically your business in spreadsheet form and link it in the footer.
JSON-LD Schema Everywhere: This is the code language AI and Google understand best. At minimum add schema for: • Local Business (your details) • Services (what you do) • FAQ (what customers ask) • Reviews (your social proof)
Beef Up Your FAQ Section: Don’t just do “What services do you offer?” Boring. Do natural Q&A that matches what people ask AI: • “Why should I hire [Your Company] instead of [Other Industry Option]?”
Reviews & Testimonials: AI is constantly scanning for trust signals. Show off real reviews on your site and make sure you’ve got consistent ones on Google, Yelp, G2, etc.
Here’s the crazy part: 99% of your competitors are asleep at the wheel. That means you’ve got a once-in-a-decade shot to be the business AI recommends before anyone else even realizes what’s happening.

Interesting Tool/Find
Taco Bell mild sauce comes in jars now.
And I’m not talking “special occasion” condiment use.
I’m talking: one jar, gone in a week.
At this point it’s less of a sauce and more of a beverage in my house.
