Let's dive in 👇

Thought from the week

If my work week was a movie, the title would be: Nailing the First Impression (I Hope).

Because man… first impressions matter.

A great first impression can build trust, create confidence, and make the entire relationship smoother from day one.

A bad first impression?

That’s basically showing up to a first date with mustard on your shirt and explaining your “revolutionary crypto strategy” before appetizers arrive.

Tough hill to climb after that.

This has been consuming a huge amount of my thinking lately with Luna and honestly with all of our businesses.

I keep asking myself: “How do we make this a 10/10 experience?”

Not “pretty good.”

Not “good enough.”

Not “well technically it works.”

A true “holy crap this feels thoughtful” experience.

For Luna, that means obsessing over onboarding.

Right now it’s 32 screens.

Which sounds absolutely insane when you say it out loud.

But it moves fast. And the tiny details matter.

Every screen has a job:

Build trust.

Reduce confusion.

Provide value.

Make people feel taken care of.

Because in reality, you have maybe 2 minutes to convince someone: “Hey… this thing is actually worth paying for.”

And that’s hard.

People are skeptical.

Attention spans are fried.

Everyone has subscription fatigue.

So your first impression has to carry a ridiculous amount of weight.

One stat I’m really focused on right now:

About 25% of people who download Luna become active users.

If we can double that?

Massive.

Not because of some “growth hack.”

But because better onboarding usually means better communication, better trust, and a better product experience overall.

Sometimes the difference between a business growing slowly and growing explosively is just making people feel understood in the first five minutes.

It’s kind of wild when you think about it.

A restaurant has one meal.

A hotel has one check-in experience.

A coffee shop has one interaction at the counter.

Software has one onboarding flow.

That first impression sets the tone for everything that follows.
