Ben's 1x1x1 - Steal My Morning Pep-Talks - September 26, 2025 🚀
For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1.
One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let’s dive in 👇
Thought from the week
Every morning I sit down with a cup of coffee, a pen, and the kind of paper that was definitely meant for more important things than my chicken-scratch handwriting.
I write out my to-do list.
Highest leverage stuff only.
No “fold laundry” or “buy oat milk” makes the cut.
Just the needle-movers.
But the real magic?
At the very top, I write a little message to myself.
A mini pep-talk.
Sometimes it’s a gentle reminder.
Other times it’s a “light a fire under your ass because nobody else is gonna do it” message.
Lacking a little motivation or discipline?
Here are 5 of my favorites that keep me moving forward:
1. Impatience with actions. Patience with results.
I think about this SEAL saying a lot. The idea:
Impatience with actions: Move fast, take initiative, execute now.
Patience with results: Don’t expect instant success or immediate payoff. Endurance, persistence, and consistency compound over time.
2. Just a little bit better.

I don’t need a giant win every day.
I just need to get a little bit better every day.
This compounds to the big wins.
3. Dig deep. Focus the effort. Never give up.
This was the background of my phone during the first two years of WeHero.
Basically, a constant reminder that startups are hard and DoorDash is not a career plan B.
4. Life is play.

Because sometimes I forget and turn it into a serious board meeting in my own head.
4. Kick some f*cking ass!

No explanation needed.
Interesting Tool/Find
Want something to do when you’re doom-scrolling Instagram or trying to figure out if Uber Eats gave you 10% off or just the illusion of savings?
I dusted off my old Lumosity subscription.
Do I feel sharper? Sure.
Can I remember what I ate for lunch two days ago? Not a chance.
