Ben's 1x1x1 - Luna for web, 10% better, and timeboxing - October 2, 2026 šŸš€

For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1.

One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.

Let’s dive in šŸ‘‡

Thought(s) from the week

Here are 3 rapid fire thoughts as I head into Q4 šŸ‘‡

1. Luna for web is LIVE 🐶

Luna for web is officially live and I couldn’t be more excited.

One of the biggest hurdles with getting help from Luna was… having to download an app.

I know. Wild concept: people don’t always want to download another app just to ask why their dog is eating grass for the 47th time.

Now they can just open a browser and start chatting with Luna.

Less friction = more people getting access to the Luna ecosystem.

And hopefully fewer people Googling ā€œcan dogs eat drywall?ā€ at 11:48pm.

The Luna for web chat page asking ā€œHow can I help your pet today?ā€ with suggested questions and a message box to ask about your pet

2. Enjoy something 10% more.

Someone shared this exercise with me recently and I’ve been playing with it:

Take something you’re doing and simply tell yourself to enjoy it 10% more.

That’s it.

Emptying the dishwasher? Enjoy it 10% more.

Going for a walk? Enjoy it 10% more.

Making coffee? Enjoy it 10% more.

I’ve actually found it works surprisingly well.

It’s almost like giving your brain a tiny nudge to stop rushing through whatever you’re doing and actually… be there.

And if you’re wondering whether this works for folding laundry, I’ll let you know when I achieve that level of enlightenment.

3. Time-boxing works because our standards are stupid.

I’ve become increasingly convinced that we tend to fill whatever amount of time we give ourselves.

Give me 30 days to complete a task and there’s a very good chance I’ll find a way to make it take 30 days.

Give me 7 days?

Suddenly it’s a 7-day project.

Same thing with meetings.

If you schedule a meeting for an hour, somehow the meeting becomes an hour.

There’s small talk. There’s a ā€œwhile we’re all hereā€¦ā€ There’s someone sharing a story that has absolutely nothing to do with the meeting.

Schedule that same meeting for 20 minutes?

We skip the fluff, get straight to business, make the decisions, and somehow get the same result.

The human brain is funny.

Apparently, give it a bigger box and it will immediately start looking for furniture.

Find from my week

I can’t wait to get one of these for my house and scare 50% of my friends.

Image from my life

We got some family photos done this week, which is essentially us paying $300 to get one photo where the dog is sitting, both girls are smiling, and for approximately 10 seconds it looks like we have our shit together.

But holy cow, every time we get family photos done, it’s such a great reminder of how beautiful it is where we live.

We spend so much time in the day-to-day that it’s easy to forget to actually look around.

Turns out, paying $300 to wrangle two kids and a golden retriever is also a pretty effective way to appreciate your surroundings.

See you all next week!
